Sorbic acid

Another name for sorbic acid is E200 food additive. It is used as a preservative, reduces the development of various bacteria, fungi, molds in food: juices, wine, food of animal and vegetable origin, canned food, etc. Slows down the oxidation process upon contact with air.
As a stabilizer: for shaping the product, for example in baking and for maintaining the desired consistency for a long time. Other uses of the acid are in cosmetics and, less commonly, as rat poison.
