Acetone production and stocks in East China increased by 7.5%

Compared to two weeks ago, February 11, this figure was at around 40,000 tons.
Last week, import volumes of material entered the Chinese market amounted to 11.2 thousand tons, while the consumption of acetone by processors was at the level of 8.2 thousand tons.
Acetone, along with phenol, is the main raw material for the production of bisphenol A (BPA, by condensation), which in turn is used to produce polycarbonate (PC).
Estimated consumption of PC granulate in Russia (excluding imports and exports to Belarus) decreased by 11% in the first eleven months of 2021 due to a significant decrease in imports and growth in exports.
Thus, the total estimated consumption of material in January - November amounted to 74.3 thousand tons against 83.6 thousand tons in the same period a year earlier.
